We purchased Rosie, our motorhome, in 2000, following a few years with a tent trailer and a year with a 24 foot travel trailer. Rosie is 35 feet long, Class A on a Ford chassis. Rosie is fully self-contained, with two slide-outs to make the living room and bedroom "roomier". She has on-board storage for 55 gallons of fresh water, holding tanks for waste water, and batteries and a generator to operate the electrical systems. There is forced air heating, dual ducted air conditioners, full bath with shower over the tub, microwave, two TVs, and all the comforts of home, including a fully stocked kitchen.
Rosie has taken us on many vacations, the longest of which was three weeks to national parks in northern Arizona and southern Utah. That trip covered 1,800 miles and was one of the best vacations we've had.
More about Rosie and our travels will follow, along with some photographs.
"Tioga George" is a retired fellow who lives full time in a Tioga Class C motorhome and has travelled over much of the US and Mexico. He has a web site which is updated every day with his adventures, as well as an on-line magazine which provides lots of practical advice for a life on wheels. His web is located here.
